Extending Yohan Cabaye's contract must be a summer priority for Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has pledged his future to the club by insisting that he has "no plans on leaving" during the summer transfer window.

Crystal Palace ended their season with a 2-0 win at home to West Bromwich Albion.

His prominent role in the Eagles' revival from a poor start to the campaign has sparked speculation linking him with a big-money move to the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham. Since 2013 the results between Palace and West Brom in all competitions have seen two draws and four wins apiece, with an aggregate score in that stretch of 11-11.

The Ivory Coast global has re-established himself as one of the finest dribblers in England's top flight and is the undoubted headliner at Palace, much as he was prior to joining United in 2013. "We phased it in the sense that we were anxious not to come in banging drums and having meetings and saying - right this is all wrong at the club, we haven't got enough discipline and we haven't got enough that", he said.

"He has a long-term contract and is one of our best-paid players, and the last thing on anyone's minds is letting him go".

Hodgson still has a soft spot for West Brom, and he says it will be hard on Sunday for himself and former Baggies favourites and current Palace backroom staff Steven Reid and Dean Kiely.

He could reflect on a job well done after a comfortable victory over West Brom whose relegation was confirmed on Tuesday, the same day caretaker manager Darren Moore collected the April manager of the month award.

Despite winning the Premier League title by a 19-point margin, Pep Guardiola is eager to improve his squad in order to mount a successful title defence as well as compete for European glory. "Everyone has been speculating and I will leave it as that", he said.
