Neymar was named as France's player of the year at an awards ceremony in Paris on Sunday, despite the Paris Saint-Germain superstar missing the last three months of the season due to injury.

Neymar has always been touted for a move back to Spain but has admitted he is exhausted of the speculation surrounding his future amid links to Real Madrid.

"Neymar has given France plenty, but also Ligue 1", Ronaldo said, according to ESPN FC.

Neymar, who signed from Barcelona in August for a world-record fee of €222million, may have been sidelined with a broken metatarsal since February, but 19 goals and 13 assists in 20 appearances earned him the honour. We need to wait and see what happens'.

His PSG teammates Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe were also nominees, along with Marseille's Florian Thauvin. "I couldn't have won this trophy without my teammates".

The France global scored 13 goals and assisted seven more from 28 appearances in his debut campaign at Parc des Princes.

PSG coach Unai Emery, who is leaving at the end of the season, won Coach of the Year after guiding PSG to a domestic treble.

Mbappe, 19, was also included in the Ligue 1 best XI, along with teammates Cavani, Marco Verratti, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves and Marquinhos to fill seven of the 11 berths.
