Are you exhausted of waiting for former Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi's return to Metroidvania form in the crowdfunded Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night? But you might not remember that the campaign also promised a smaller, 8-bit prequel as one of its stretch goals. Players will be able to toggle between four characters on the fly: Zangetsu, a sword-wielding demon slayer, fearless whip-bearer Miriam, sly alchemist Alfred, and Gebel, a misanthrope who for some reason, has undergone crystal transplant surgery. During your journey you can meet travelers who can join your party as playable characters.
Each character has their own unique abilities, and will unlock new paths through the various game stages.
Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night still hasn't seen the light of day yet, but now we are learning that it is getting a spin-off.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an upcoming 2D action platformer that was successfully Kickstarted by former Castlevania director Koji Igarashi all the way back in 2015. It'll be available to those who donated $28 to the Kickstarter campaign for free. Please select a different platform (Steam, PS4, XB1, PS Vita, or Nintendo Switch) for your Retro spin-off game before the May 18th 2018 platform-selection deadline by clicking the "Access Your Backer Survey" button below, then clicking the "Change Your Survey Answers" link. It has a lot of retro charm, and I had a great deal of fun with it.
